Write to Success is hard at work on the Essay Accelerator — a course that prepares learners to conquer college and beyond.
Full disclosure: building an online course, website, etc. is a technological challenge. I’ve had WordPress sites for ever, and managed to get this newsletter running, but anything more complex makes me want to crawl under my desk and gnaw an eraser.
So why do it?
Because writing is power.
My dream is to make that life-changing power accessible to as many students as possible.
The reins of the world are held by those who know how to access, analyze and use information. That potential belongs in the hands of many, not a few.
Writing is hard. Start now.
Writing well is a complex skill that requires instruction, practice, more instruction, more practice. I’ve been writing professionally for 25 years and literally learn something new every day. The sooner students begin to study writing, the greater the academic, intellectual and personal benefits.
Although all high school curricula include writing, few young people are fortunate enough to have writing classes. Students who enter college without adequate preparation are starting a race with a cinder block chained to their ankle.
The Essay Accelerator will offer practical tools applicable to academic writing across all disciplines. Short, sharp, clear videos will break down the writing process and allow students to focus on challenge areas. Above all, TEA will empower learners to leverage their knowledge, passion and hard work to excel in the college and beyond.
